We are delighted to be able to offer the opportunity for an exciting FREE HOLIDAY COURSE in the July School Holidays for our Iriaka & Tupaia orchestra tamariki. This will be led by the Pacifica Arts Centre – https://www.pacificaarts.org/ and will feature Cook Island drumming and storytelling by the Turou Takitua Storytellers Tuaratini, Jarcinda and Jarome through a fun 3-day holiday programme.

To take part, your child would need to be available for the whole of the holiday course and attend each day.

Course Details

  • Tuesday 16th July | 9:30am – 12:30pm
  • Wednesday 17th July | 9:30am – 12:30pm
  • Thursday 18th July | 9:30am – 12:30pm

Tupaia Orchestra & Iriaka Orchestra

Hello Tupaia and Iriaka Orchrestras! We have an amazing Holiday Programme for you this July holidays!

Details:

Tuesday 16th July: 1:00pm – 4:00pm

Wednesday 17th July: 1:00pm – 4:00pm

Thursday 18th July: 1:00pm – 4:00pm

If you would like your child to take an Instrument License Test please complete this form with your child.
Passing an Instrument License Test will give your child the option to borrow a Violin or Cello from Sistema Aotearoa to take home.
Please note, this is currently only available for students in our Tupaia Orchestra.

Intermediate Orchestra (Year 6 – 9)

Hello Intermediate Orchestra! This July holidays we have an amazing course planned to celebrate our Year 6 cohort joining our group!

  • Tuesday 9th July: 10:00am – 1:00pm
  • Wednesday 10th July: 10:00am – 1:00pm
  • Thursday 11th July: 10:00am – 1:00pm

The National Youth Theatre is offering us FREE tickets to see their production of “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat”

We have VERY LIMITED tickets and will be dealt on a first come, first served basis.

At the moment, we are only offering these tickets to our students aged 13 and older.

WHERE | Meet at ŌMAC for a bus to the Kiri Te Kanawa Theatre, Aotea Centre

We plan to arrive back to ŌMac at 9:30pm

We are excited to inform you that the Ōtara Brass Band has been invited to perform a pre-show concert at the ASB Waterfront Theatre on Tuesday, 25th June. Following the performance, we have been offered FREE tickets for our students to attend the theatre production of “Red, White and Brass.

Transport will be provided from ŌMAC. Please complete this form for Bus and “Red White and Brass” Tickets.

Departure Time: 5:00 PM from ŌMAC
Pre-Show Performance: 6:20 PM – 6:40 PM in the theatre foyer
Theatre Show: 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM
Return Time: Approximately 9:45 PM, back to ŌMAC

We have been invited to perform and participate in two very important and exciting events in the July School Holidays. These are the Pacific Festival of Brass at Due Drop Events Centre, and the Whau Pasifika Festival at Avondale College. Transport will be provided to and from ŌMAC for both events.

Both of these events are happening on Thursday 11th July.

To prepare for these events, we have scheduled the following rehearsals:

Tuesday 9th July: 2 – 4pm at ŌMAC

Wednesday 10th July: 2 – 4pm at ŌMAC

Thursday 11th July:
11:00am: Meet at ŌMAC for bus
12:30pm: First Performance
1:00pm: Lunch
1:30pm Bus to Avondale for rehearsals
4:15pm: Dinner Break (Provided)
6:30pm: Second Performance
7:30pm: Arrive back at ŌMAC
